Crawford, Pena key Rays’ 10th-inning win (AP)

Tampa Bay Rays' Carl Crawford hits a RBI single off Detroit Tigers reliever Fernando Rodney to tie the game during the 10th inning of a baseball game Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Rays came from behind to beat the Tigers 6-5 in 10 innings.

Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon called the Rays' extra-inning win over Detroit "inspirational." Tigers manager Jim Leyland needed just 19 seconds to wrap up another tough defeat. Carl Crawford hit a tying RBI single in the 10th inning and Carlos Pena drew a game-ending, bases-loaded walk to give AL East-leading Tampa Bay a 6-5 victory on Sunday.
