It’s a disturbing pattern the Detroit Red Wings realize they must break, or they could get into serious trouble against the underdog Nashville Predators in their first-round playoff series.
In Game 2, the Predators scored twice in an 11-second span to tie the score in the second period. And in Game 3 Monday, Nashville scored on consecutive shots on two different occasions—2:08 apart late in the second to tie it, and then nine seconds apart late in the third to win the game.
The Red Wings believe they aren’t doing a good job of regrouping mentally after Nashville scores. That’s three times in two games the Predators have quickly burned them with another goal.
